Frame it yourself
Order online
Order a finished, empty frame made to your size, with your chosen matboard, glazing and backing. Open the frame, mount your needlework, then fit it into place yourself.
- Choose your frame online or in store.
- Non-adhesive foam core is our usual backing recommendation for DIY fabric needlework.
- Online frame orders can be delivered Australia-wide.

Mounting your needlework
- We usually secure fabric needlework to its backing board with pins or staples.
- Light tension helps the work sit as flat as possible. The usual pinning or stapling approach allows it to be released from the backing later.
- In specific cases, or at your request, we may recommend adhesive and discuss this with you.
Frames and matboards
- Choose from a wide range of frame styles, colours and finishes.
- Use a single mat, double mat or no mat to suit the piece.
- Combine frame and matboard choices to complement your stitching.

What we frame
We frame cross-stitch, embroidery, tapestry, needlepoint, beaded work and older or delicate textiles. We also frame diamond dot and diamond painting artwork. From a small stitched keepsake to a larger piece, you can bring your work in and choose the presentation you like.

- No preparation is needed. If there is spare fabric around the design, leave it in place: there is no strict minimum, but extra fabric gives us more options for mounting.
- Keep your work flat or lightly rolled for transport. Avoid folding it, as creases can be difficult to remove and may not come out completely.

Framing it yourself?
Order a frame for DIYYou can order a custom frame and mount your needlework at home. For fabric needlework, we generally recommend non-adhesive foam core backing, which lets you use very small pins to secure the excess fabric.
- Mount the work to the backing, then fit it into the frame. If you are using a matboard, it sits over the mounted work.
- With enough spare fabric, another option is to wrap it around the backing board and pin it from the back.
- We supply your chosen frame, matboard, glazing and backing; you mount and fit the needlework at home.
- If you are unsure which size to order or how a matboard will affect the fit, call or email us before ordering.
FAQs
Common questions
Can I get a quote without bringing my work in?
Yes. We can quote from your measurements by phone or email. Seeing the work in person is helpful for advising on mounting and presentation, but an inspection is not required to obtain a quote.
How much spare fabric do I need?
There is no strict minimum. Leave any spare fabric in place if possible, as more fabric gives us greater flexibility when mounting the work.
Can you remove fold lines?
Creases can be difficult to remove, and some may not come out completely. Keep your work flat or lightly rolled rather than folding it before you bring or send it in.
Can I post my needlework to you?
Yes. Contact us first to arrange the job before posting your work to our Sydney showroom in Roselands.
